Notes: I got hooked on Law of Ueki after the first three episodes. I find it to be quite refreshing in the shounen gender - takes an old formula and adds new twists and quirks to it... and many odd ones as well XD Ai-chan quickly became my favourite character in the anime, so I decided to cosplay her. Apart from her school uniform all her clothes, just like most of the cast, are "normal" clothes. So in my innocence I chose my favourite of her outfits, thinking it'd be an easy costume for a change. How wrong I was... most "normal" clothes on anime characters are anything but normal. All of them end up having either odd patterns, colours or shapes, being most of them hard to find on normal stores. The skirt was originaly white, I had to custom-dye it and then draw & paint the stripes on it. The top was actualy not easy to find, and then stripes were drawn on it (not easy in a stretchy fabric) and roses & lace sewn to it. The backpack was made from scratch in proper rigid fabric, which made it a pain in the neck to sew... thank goodness dear mother did the machine-sewing part for me, otherwise I'd have ended up breaking a couple of machine needles. The shoes were sprayed brown, and the wig was originaly a mid-back, fringless wig. Overall I'm quite proud of this costume.
